Water park safety Tip!

Waterpark safety is a partnership between parents and parks. Parents should always directly supervise their children, especially if children are young or weak swimmers.

Read the signs at every waterpark attraction and listen to all audio instructions provided by recordings or staff. Obey all rules and experience-level guidelines.

Learn to swim. The best thing anyone can do to stay safe in and around the water is to learn to swim--this includes adults and children. The American Red Cross has swimming courses for people of any age and swimming ability.

Please: NO running in or around the pools.

Emergency Preparedness

Active play helps your child learn healthy habits.

Active children are more likely to be happy and feel good about themselves. Children feel proud after learning how to bounce a ball or ride a bike.

COOL Zone Tips

During hot weather you will need to increase your fluid intake, regardless of your activity level. People that spend time outdoors should drink 1 to 2 liters per hour that they are outdoors. Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink. By the time your body tells you that you are thirsty, you are already mildly dehydrated.
Caffeinated drinks and alcohol dehydrate the body, which increases the need for drinking water.
Heat cramps are muscular pains and spasms due to heavy exertion. They usually involve the abdominal muscles or the legs. The loss of water and salt from heavy sweating causes heat cramps.

Aquatica SeaWorld's waterpark
in Chula Vista
is finally open to the public!

Arriving just in time, the new and improved water park in Chula Vista opened to the public with a dedication ceremony featuring Aquatica™ Hula dancers who brought delight to the audience, Mayor Cheryl Cox, former San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, county Supervisor Greg Cox,Chula Vista Mayor Cheryl Cox and County Supervisor Greg Cox with Aquatica oficials and the South Bay-area beauty pageant winners.

SeaWorld Parks inspire millions through the power of entertainment, to celebrate, connect with others, and care for the natural world. Aquatica in Chula Vista, San Diego is a lushly landscaped water park with up-close animal experiences, high- speed thrills and the amenities of a beachside resort. Called Aquatica SeaWorld Waterpark, the facility includes spruced-up water slides, new lush landscaping and up-close animal encounters.

18 beautiful Caribbean flamingos are now calling our Aquatica waterpark home. You can see them as soon as you enter the water park in their fantastic new exhibit by the Loggerhead Lane lazy river.

The park’s transformation is the result of several months of discussion with Chula Vista officials, according to SeaWorld parks and entertainment communications director Dave Koontz.

Caribbean flamingos and varied species of fresh-water turtles, which can be viewed in an above- and underwater exhibit, are meant to round out guests’ experience as they enter the park.
Cromwell said that having animals in Aquatica parks adds an educational component for kids and adults alike.

“The animal connections are provided in a way only SeaWorld can deliver,” Cromwell said.

Cromwell said the park features architecture unique to Aquatica, similar to its two sister parks in Florida and Texas. It originally launched in Orlando in 2008.

“Every ride is being re-branded to fit the Aquatica water park theme,” Cromwell said.

The park also provides guests with an opportunity to hang ten at Big Surf Shores, which is filled with 500,000 gallons of water and period swells up to five feet.

Cromwell said SeaWorld prides itself on its service-oriented environment with vacation-like amenities, which is why adults are given the opportunity to relax on a white sandy beach in lawn chairs or underneath a cabana, catered to by professionals in hospitality.

“It’s a resort-like experience,” Cromwell said.

If you are planing to spend time outside, especially in warm weather, you may find yourself needing both insect repellent and sunscreen. You can use insect repellent and sunscreen together. It's best to apply sunscreen before repellent. That's in part because repellent should be applied less generously than sunscreen. Follow the instructions on the package for proper application of each product.Reapply after the bath, shower, pool or sprinkler, Etc.
