Flu Shots Available
County of San Diego -The Flu Shot Hotline, (877) FLU-0202, is now being staffed to give seniors and others information about where to receive a flu shot. Medicare (Part B) will pay for the flu shot as well as a pneumonia vaccine. The influenza season typically occurs between November and May. The flu vaccine is recommended for people age 60 and older, and younger people with chronic medical conditions. Click HERE for flu listings near you! |

Gentle Fitness
Gentle Fitness is a gentle conditioning exercise program at Grossmont Hospital, designed for individuals with chronic or disabling conditions. Classes focus on improving total body flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, endurance & promoting relaxation. SEEKING: Parents with children ages 5-7 to participate in
a San Diego State University research study
The purpose of this project is to learn more about how children and families use their time outside of school, make food choices, and participate in recreation and leisure activities. You and your child will be asked to participate in annual measures of height and weight and complete a survey about your family’s lifestyle related to physical activity and eating. SDSU MOVE/Me Muevo is offered in English and Spanish. Only 540 families can participate-WHERE: At one of 30 City of San Diego, City of El Cajon, City of La Mesa, or City of Lemon Grove recreation centers- COST: Participating families will be asked to meet with project staff at a recreation center once a year for 3 years. If eligible, families will have the opportunity to earn up to $145 over the course of the study!
