Crimes against older adults continue to escalate.
Some of the criminal activity involves bold, direct assaults.
Other crimes focus on tricking seniors out of their money.

“Unfortunately, many criminals view seniors as easy targets,” says District Attorney Bonnie M. Dumanis.

...Dumanis and her office are joining with San Diego County Board of Supervisor Pam Slater-Price and County’s Aging and Independence Services and several government and nonprofit organizations to offer Consumer Protection Day as a way to bring greater community awareness to this problem.

Consumer Protection Day will also include several exhibits with tips on how to avoid scams, plus free food and entertainment.
