2006 Intergenerational Games were a succesful learning and physical experience!

The Intergenerational Games combine sport activities and skill/knowledge challenges in a competitive but friendly environment encouraging each pair (teams will be made up of one student and one adult) to develop teamwork, communication, understanding and respect between generations.Kids learning Healthy Food portions

This event also promotes healthy and active lifestyle behaviors.

Teams earn points through a number of activities that can includes learning nutritional information and physical games such as basketball shoot, street hockey shot, soccer, bocce ball roll, soccer kick, Frisbee toss, etc. Everyone is a winner.

This year La Mesa city wanted to join the fun of sponsoring this event.La Mesa Intergenerational Games were held on October 13 at the la Mesa Middle School athletic field.

The South Bay Intergenerational Games were held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the U.S. Olympic TrainKids and olders having great timeing Center in Chula Vista. All participants left making plans for repeating the experience next year giving thanks to Aging and Independence Services, the Chula Vista School Distric, Health Net,San Diego State University, Kaiser Permanente, Sharp, the U.S.Olympic Training Center and all the volunteers that make it possible.

The East County Intergenerational Games were held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East County, 1171 E. Madison Ave., El Cajon 92021.

Rise in Cases Nationwide and Locally Warrants Concern; Infants Especially at Risk. The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Public Health Services continues to warn local physicians and the public about the rise in pertussis throughout the county and nation, and recommends immunizations for adolescents and adults.

"Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, can be passed on to infants by their adult and adolescent household contacts", said Nancy Bowen, M.D., San Diego County Public Health Officer.

“Pertussis is highly contagious, and infants are at the highest risk for complications from this respiratory disease,” she said. “Even if you got a pertussis vaccination when you were a child,immunity wears off.” More


PUBLIC ADMINISTRATOR’S ESTATE AUCTION WAS ON SATURDAY, NOV. 18- Vehicles, Instruments, Jewelry and More Offered on Auction Block- Hundreds of items, from cars to collectibles, were auctioned off by the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, Public Administrator/Public Guardian (PA/PG), on Saturday, Nov. 18.

The event, which takes place at the County Operations Annex in Kearny Mesa, 5201-A Ruffin Road, San Diego, will feature a wide variety of assets from numerous Superior Court-appointed decedent and conservatorship estates managed by PA/PG.

“This event provides an opportunity for the public to find bargains on unique and everyday items, while benefiting the estates we administer,” said Public Administrator Chuck Matthews.

Registration and viewing of auction items begins at 8 a.m., with the vehicle auction starting at 8:30 a.m., and all other items to follow. Customers are required to both pay for and pick up the auction property by 2 p.m. that day. Pictures of some of the items for sale are available on the PA/PG department’s website at www.papg.org.

PA/PG investigates and administers the estates of persons who die with no will or without an appropriate person willing or able to act as an administrator, usually managing the affairs of 300-400 estates at any given time. PA/PG also investigates conservatorship matters and serves as the legally appointed guardian for elderly and disabled persons found by the Court to be unable to manage their own assets and personal care.
