Taking steps to end Alzheimer's
I have dedicated the last 8 years of my life working at the Alzheimer’s
Association in order to help provide quality programs and services to the
thousands of families that are affected by this disease. After all this time, it
never ceases to amaze me how this disease devastates entire families
-physically, emotionally, and financially. Everyday, hundreds of families turn
to us for guidance and support, and I am proud and honored to be able to offer
services that can help San Diegans better manage the disease.
In San Diego, we now estimate that there could be up to 90,000 individuals
suffering from Alzheimer’s and up to 340,000 affected by the disease. And the
number of Americans with Alzheimer’s disease continues to grow – by 2050 the
number of individuals with Alzheimer’s could range from 11.3 million to 16
million.
Please help me do my part to improve the lives of those affected by
Alzheimer’s by supporting me with a donation as I run in the September 10th
Alzheimer’s Association 5K Memory Walk in Balboa Park. My personal goal is to
raise $1,000. Proceeds from Memory Walk go directly to improve the lives of
those affected by Alzheimer’s and promote research and effective treatments.
Thank you in advance for your support.
